Special counsel Jack Smith has asked the judge overseeing former President Donald Trump's classified documents case to impose a protective order over the evidence in the case, including "information pertaining to ongoing investigations." The order is meant to prevent Trump and his codefendant from disclosing sensitive information obtained during the discovery process. The proposed order would also prevent the defendants from disclosing any of the evidence to the public. Trump was charged on Tuesday with 37 criminal counts related to his handling of classified materials.
