He hopes for a federal emergency declaration and aid to help rebuild the levee and prevent further flooding. Short-term aid is on the way, with $600 checks being sent out to farmworkers affected by the floods. The governor is working with the Army Corps to speed up the 5-7 year process of overhauling the Pajaro levee.
