DOJ Concludes Andrew Cuomo Created Sexually Hostile Work Environment

A formal agreement between the state executive chamber and the US justice department revealed that former New York governor Andrew Cuomo subjected at least 13 female government employees to a sexually hostile work environment and retaliated against four who complained. Cuomo, who denied accusations of sexual misconduct, resigned in August 2021 after the New York attorney general found 11 claims credible. The investigation found that Cuomo's senior staff were aware of his conduct and retaliated against the women he harassed. Reforms are being implemented under Cuomo's successor, Kathy Hochul, to root out the culture of harassment in the executive chamber.
