"Judge Warns of Prison Time for Trump's Violation of Gag Order"

Former President Donald Trump has been threatened with heavy sanctions or even jail time by Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron for a "blatant violation" of a partial gag order in his $250 million New York fraud trial. The judge warned that incendiary untruths can lead to serious physical harm and asked Trump's defense lawyer to explain why he should not be punished or imprisoned. Trump's attorney apologized on his behalf, claiming the violation was unintentional. The gag order was imposed earlier this month after Trump posted on social media attacking the judge's law clerk, and although the post was eventually removed, it remained on Trump's campaign website for over two weeks. The case, brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, accuses Trump and his company of fraudulently inflating asset values.
