Zelensky's Defiant Visit to Snake Island Marks 500th Day of Ukraine War

In a video posted on Telegram, Zelensky called the island a "place of victory" and vowed to reclaim every inch of Ukrainian territory taken by Russia since the war began. Snake Island was famously defended by Ukrainian soldiers who defied a Russian warship's order to surrender at the start of the conflict. The island was later seized by Russia but reclaimed by Ukraine. Zelensky's visit comes as he seeks to garner support for Ukraine's NATO membership during a diplomatic tour of European leaders.
