Ukraine Seeks NATO Membership Invitation Next Week

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has urged NATO to invite Kyiv to join the alliance at an upcoming meeting, as part of President Zelenskiy's plan to end the war with Russia. While Ukraine acknowledges it cannot join NATO until the war ends, an invitation would signal to Russia that its goal of preventing Ukraine's membership is unattainable. However, there is currently no consensus among NATO members to extend such an invitation, as it requires unanimous agreement from all 32 member countries.
