Escalating Tensions: Taiwan Urges China to Halt Destructive Military Activities

Taiwan's defense ministry has called on China to cease its "destructive, unilateral actions" after reporting a significant increase in Chinese military activities near the island. The ministry observed 103 Chinese military aircraft over the sea, with fighter jets crossing the unofficial barrier of the Taiwan Strait and other aircraft flying through the Bashi Channel. Taiwan warns that such behavior could escalate tensions and worsen regional security, urging Beijing to take responsibility and halt these actions. China's defense ministry has not yet responded to the request for comment. Additionally, China recently dispatched over 100 naval ships for exercises in the region, putting pressure on everyone in the area and conducting the "largest" naval exercises in years.
