African peace delegation visits Ukraine amidst conflict and tension.

African leaders arrived in Kyiv for a peace mission to mediate between Ukraine and Russia, but at least two explosions rocked the city and air raid sirens blared. The delegation, including leaders from South Africa, Senegal, Zambia, the Comoros, and Egypt, continued with their plans to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy before talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St Petersburg. Ukraine's air force said it had downed six "Kinzhal" ballistic missiles, six cruise missiles, and two drones. The peace mission could propose a series of "confidence-building measures" during initial efforts at mediation, according to a draft framework document seen by Reuters.
