70-Year-Old Woman in Uganda Defies Odds, Gives Birth to Twins

A 70-year-old woman in Uganda has given birth to twins through IVF, becoming one of the oldest women to do so. Safina Namukwaya had a boy and a girl via cesarean section at a fertility center in Kampala. Namukwaya used donor eggs and her partner's sperm for the conception. While she feels great and has a support network, critics argue that the procedure was irresponsible due to her age. The twins are currently in the neonatal intensive care unit as they were born prematurely.
