"UK's Sunak Cancels Meeting with Greek PM Amid Parthenon Sculptures Dispute"

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis accused British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of canceling a scheduled meeting in London over the ongoing dispute regarding the Parthenon Sculptures. Greece has long requested the permanent return of the sculptures, which were removed by British diplomat Lord Elgin in the 19th century. Mitsotakis expressed his disappointment and emphasized the importance of discussing the issue. The British government, however, has consistently rejected the idea of returning the sculptures and stated that the meeting was not suitable due to the ongoing dispute. Deputy British Prime Minister Oliver Dowden was offered as an alternative for discussions.
