Two detained after suspicious devices found outside Gracie Mansion amid protest

Two people were taken into custody after two suspicious devices were found outside Gracie Mansion, the NYC mayor’s residence, during an anti-Islam demonstration led by right-wing influencer Jake Lang. Police said no injuries occurred and the investigation is ongoing. It wasn’t immediately clear whether Mayor Zohran Mamdani or the first lady were home. Lang, who was pardoned for Jan. 6-related charges, has staged similar provocations, including a promised Quran burning that did not take place.
