Record-Breaking Auction: $2.7 Million Scotch Whisky Sets Unprecedented Price

A bottle of Macallan Adami 1926 whisky sold for a record-breaking $2.7 million at an auction by Sotheby's in London, surpassing the previous record set by another bottle from the same cask. Only 40 bottles of this rare whisky were produced in 1986, with 12 featuring labels designed by Valerio Adami. The bottle sold was the first to be reconditioned by Macallan's distillery. In recent years, several bottles from the Macallan 1926 collection have fetched high prices at auctions, with some bottles selling for over $1 million.
