"NASCAR's Road-Racing Prototype Hits the Auction Block"

One of NASCAR's L-R prototypes, developed in the 1980s for road racing, is set to be auctioned off in January. The L-R car was lighter and shorter than existing Cup Series machinery, with the intention of creating a series that raced on road courses and street circuits. Although the series never materialized, the prototype is now up for auction along with other NASCAR memorabilia.
