Supermassive Games to Lay Off 90 Employees

SuperMassive, the studio behind Until Dawn and The Quarry, is reportedly laying off around 90 employees, or nearly a third of its staff, as it faces significant challenges in the games industry. The UK studio, owned by Avalanche Studios Group, has entered into a period of consultation as required by UK law, with efforts made to avoid this outcome. This adds to the increasing number of job losses in the games industry, with an estimated 6,100 layoffs in 2024 so far.
