BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic undergoes developer change and layoffs

BioWare has confirmed that Broadsword will take over development of Star Wars: The Old Republic, while BioWare focuses on its prestige franchises Dragon Age and Mass Effect. Electronic Arts will maintain publishing rights for the MMO, and SWTOR staff not joining Broadsword will be offered positions at other EA studios. The game's current roadmap is still in motion, with new content planned and full support from Lucasfilm Games. Other Star Wars titles in production include Star Wars Outlaws, a first-person shooter and strategy game from Respawn Entertainment, Quantic Dream's Star Wars: Eclipse, and a remake of BioWare's Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
