Spotify Pulls Plug on Popular Podcasts 'Heavyweight' and 'Stolen'

Spotify is canceling two of its podcasts, Heavyweight and Stolen, as the platform reduces its investment in the podcast space. The podcasts, produced by Spotify's Gimlet Media, will finish their seasons on Spotify before being able to shop their shows elsewhere. The cancellation is unrelated to the recent layoffs at Spotify. Heavyweight, currently in its eighth season, helps guests work through difficult moments from their past, while Stolen, which has completed two seasons, explores stories about Indigenous people.
