Researchers at the University of Technology Vienna have developed an oxygen-ion battery that can be regenerated and has a long service life, making it an excellent solution for large energy storage systems. The battery can be produced without rare elements and is made of incombustible materials, making it safer than lithium-ion batteries. Although it has a lower energy density and runs at higher temperatures, it is ideal for storing energy from renewable sources.
