Gmail Users Beware: Scammers Exploit Verification Systems

Hackers are using Gmail's new blue checkmark sender verification system to scam users by tricking the system into thinking their fake brands are legitimate. Cybersecurity engineer Chris Plummer discovered the flaw and Google has acknowledged the error, listing it as a top priority fix. Until a fix is implemented, the verification system remains broken and is being used by hackers and spammers to trick users with the exact thing it was meant to combat.
