Evernote Moves to Europe, Lays Off US Staff

Evernote, the note-taking app, is relocating to Europe after laying off most of its US and Chilean workforce. The move comes less than six months after the company cut 129 positions due to unprofitability. Bending Spoons, the Milan-based app developer that acquired Evernote, plans to have a dedicated team in Europe take ownership of the product. The company did not disclose the exact number of employees affected but stated that affected employees would receive compensation. Evernote, once a popular app with a $1 billion valuation, has struggled in recent years due to a lack of focus and buggy software.
