Magna's Innovative Rearview Mirror with Driver-Monitoring System.

Automotive supplier Magna has developed a new rearview mirror that incorporates a driver-monitoring system (DMS) to combat distracted driving. The DMS uses infrared cameras with gaze-tracking software to monitor the driver's eyes and alert them if they are looking away from the road for too long. The camera is embedded behind the glass of the mirror, making it a self-contained unit that can be mounted like any other rearview mirror. The DMS will debut in Europe early next year and in the US in late 2024.
