Frigid Weather, Snow Set Stage for Bears Playoff Night at Soldier Field

Sub-zero wind chills, gusty winds and up to 2 inches of snow are forecast as the Bears host the Rams in a divisional playoff at Soldier Field. The team and the Chicago Park District announced enhanced game-day measures to keep fans warm, including warming centers behind Section 146, service- and colonnade-level hubs, hot chocolate, coffee and chili, and approval for battery-powered self-warming clothing with extra screening. Blankets are allowed, cardboard seating is banned, and hand warmers will be sold at pro shops. The extreme cold could persist into Tuesday with wind chills near -25, and officials urged dressing in layers and preparing for the cold, with additional safety tips for pets and references to housing heat ordinances.}{
