"Oslo, Norway Captured in Stunning Earth from Space Image by ESA"

The Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission has captured a false-color image of Oslo, Norway, showing the city surrounded by dense forest in bright red. The image also reveals the protected area of Oslomarka, which offers many hiking trails in summer and skiing tracks in winter. The inner Oslofjord is dotted with ferries and cargo vessels, while the Svelle and Øyeren lakes appear in tones of green and beige due to the presence of sediment in rivers draining into the lakes. The image was captured on 22 April 2023 using Copernicus Sentinel-2’s near-infrared channel.
