The Macrochips project by Jason Coon allows enthusiasts to memorialize their favorite chips by laser engraving their labels onto standard 4" x 4" slate coasters, creating a close approximation of the real thing. With over 140 classic and modern chips already engraved, the project provides SVGs for a handful of them, making it accessible for laser owners to replicate at home. The trend was inspired by a slate RP2040 spotted on a desk in 2021 and gained attention with the release of the Raspberry Pi 5.
