Winter Storm Warning: Snow, Strong Winds, and Slick Roads Expected in Chicago and Northeast Ohio

A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of Illinois and Northwest Indiana, with scattered flurries, lake-effect snow, gusty winds, and falling temperatures. Northern LaPorte County is expected to experience deteriorating travel conditions with reduced visibility and snow accumulations of 2-5 inches. Porter and Lake Counties in Indiana are under a wind advisory with gusts up to 45 mph. In Illinois, gusty snow and wind are creating slippery driving conditions. Temperatures will drop throughout the day, reaching a high of 33 degrees in the morning and dropping to 28 degrees by 4 p.m. Skies are expected to clear at night, but Tuesday will remain chilly with high temperatures in the low to mid 30s.
