Winter lingers as spring arrives with mixed weather patterns.

Spring begins with below-normal temperatures and a fair amount of sun on Monday. Rain and snow are expected to develop late Tuesday into early Wednesday, with the potential for significant snow in some spots in northwestern Minnesota and along the North Shore. Another system will bring rain and snow showers to southern Minnesota on Wednesday night. Temperatures this week will be warmer than last week but remain a little below normal. The vernal equinox, or spring, arrives at 4:24 p.m. on Monday.
