Weekend Weather Alert: Strong Winds and Heavy Rain Expected in SW Florida and Tampa Bay

A developing area of low pressure in the Gulf will bring rainy and windy weather to Southwest Florida over the weekend. Saturday is expected to be a washout with 1-3" of rain and the potential for stronger storms. Thursday and Friday will be cloudy and very windy, with gusts up to 40 mph. There is a possibility of severe storms producing damaging winds or a tornado. The storm will exit the area on Sunday, leaving behind drier but breezy conditions.
