Weekend Weather Alert: Strong Storms and Rain Possible

A line of showers and thunderstorms will cross the area after 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon, with a few storms possibly being strong to severe. The highest threat for severe storms is in the counties highlighted in yellow, with damaging winds being the main threat and a small tornado threat also possible. While the threat for severe weather ends around 6 p.m., showers may linger into the evening, bringing much-needed rainfall between a half inch and an inch, with the higher amounts east.
