Upcoming Winter Storms to Bring Rain, Snow, and Wind to Northern California

A strong winter storm is expected to bring heavy rain and strong, gusty winds to the Central Coast from late Monday night through Wednesday. A High Wind Watch is in effect for the entire forecast area on Tuesday, with widespread gusts of 50 to 60 mph for the coast and valleys, and 60 to 80 mph for the mountains. The storm may also bring heavy snow to the higher mountains, leading to a Winter Storm Watch. Rainfall amounts are expected to be 1.50 to 3.00 inches for the coast and valleys, and 2 to 4 inches for a large portion of the mountains. There may also be a need for a Flood Watch with additional significant rainfall.
