Tropical Storms and Depressions Expected to Strengthen into Hurricanes.

Tropical Storm Bret has formed over the central Atlantic Ocean and is expected to become a hurricane by Wednesday, according to the National Hurricane Center. The storm could impact the Leeward or Windward islands later this week and bring a risk of flooding, hurricane-force winds, and dangerous storm surge and waves. People in the Lesser Antilles, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands are advised to closely monitor updates and have their hurricane plan in place. It is still too early to tell what impacts, if any, it will have on the US mainland.
