"Southern Kansas Braces for Severe Evening Storms"

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for parts of southern Kansas until 9pm CT/MT. The storms, which may develop between 5-8pm, have the potential to become severe quickly, with hail up to 3" in diameter, wind gusts up to 70 mph, and a possibility of tornadoes. As the storms move eastward, they are expected to form into a line and produce wind gusts of up to 75 mph. The storms will clear out of the area by sunrise tomorrow.
