"Severe Weather Strikes New Jersey: Power Outages, Flooding, and Rainfall Totals"

Gusty winds have caused power outages for thousands of homes and businesses across New Jersey, with the potential for more outages due to a statewide wind advisory in effect until 8 p.m. The largest clusters of outages are in East Orange, Stillwater, and Lawrence. Wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph, reaching up to 50 mph, are expected before diminishing in the evening. As of Monday morning, over 5,600 utility customers are without power, and the National Weather Service reports gusts of 58 mph at High Point Monument and 50 mph in the Fortescue section of Downe Township.
