Ohio to Conduct Annual Statewide Tornado Siren Test

Tornado sirens will sound across Ohio as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, with a statewide test at 9:50 a.m. Governor Mike DeWine has designated March 17-23, 2024, as Severe Weather Awareness Week to encourage preparedness for spring and summer weather hazards. Ohioans are urged to review and practice emergency plans, and participate in a statewide tornado drill at 9:50 a.m. Businesses, schools, and households are also encouraged to practice their tornado drills and emergency plans, while the National Weather Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have created resources for understanding and preparing for severe weather.
