Heatwave Eases in Northern California as Rain Chances Return

The worst of the heat wave is over in Northern California, but temperatures in the Sacramento area could still reach triple digits on Monday. Areas like Sacramento, Marysville, Stockton, and Modesto are expected to reach the century mark, while spots closer to the Delta will experience a breeze and some cooling. Overnight temperatures will drop as the Delta breeze increases, and highs on the Fourth of July will be in the mid-90s. Temperatures will continue to trend cooler throughout the week, reaching the 80s by the weekend.
