"Chicagoans Brave Frigid Temps and Dangerous Wind Chills"

Chicago and the surrounding areas are experiencing a prolonged cold snap with below-zero temperatures and dangerous wind chill values expected to persist until at least Tuesday, before a slight warm-up in the middle of the week. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect until Wednesday for several counties in Illinois and Indiana. The Lake Michigan water temperature has also dropped significantly, leading to icy spray and shoreline icing. The forecast includes temperatures climbing back into the teens by the middle of the week, with a chance of light snow on Wednesday.
