Pilot Fired for Offering Medical Flights to Women.

Greg Williams, a volunteer pilot for a group that provides free flights to people who need to travel for medical care, was fired from his job teaching Greek and Latin at a Catholic seminary in Louisiana after offering to fly women in need of out-of-town medical care on a private Facebook page. Williams was fired for publicly advocating a position contrary to the official teaching of the Catholic Church, which opposes abortion. Williams has no legal recourse to compel St Joseph to rehire him, as Louisiana is an at-will employment state. Williams said he found new work at an Episcopalian church and has flown about 15 people through Pilots for Patients since his dismissal.
