Chicago Mayor-elect Johnson Condemns Unruly Teen Crowds in Loop

Unruly crowds gathered in downtown Chicago and near Millennium Park over the weekend, resulting in two people being shot. Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson called the activity "unacceptable," but also said that demonizing youth who have been starved of opportunities in their own communities is not constructive. Mayor Lori Lightfoot also addressed the issue, stating that young people have a right to enjoy the city but must do so in a respectful manner. Fifteen people were arrested in the incident.
