Black FedEx Driver Fired After Reporting White Men Shooting at Him, Attorney Claims

A Black FedEx driver who claimed he was shot at and chased by two White men while delivering packages in Mississippi has been fired from his job after refusing a part-time, non-courier position offered by the company. The driver's attorney criticized FedEx for its insensitivity and lack of concern for his client's safety, stating that the company had never cared about his Black life. A mistrial was recently declared in the trial of the two White men charged with attempted murder, and prosecutors plan to retry the case. The driver's attorney intends to hold FedEx accountable for intentional infliction of emotional distress for sending the driver back to the same dangerous route the day after the attack.
