Trump's Legal Team Loses Key Lawyer Amid Mar-a-Lago Probe

Timothy Parlatore, a key lawyer representing Donald Trump in a special counsel investigation of his handling of classified documents, has left the former president's legal team. Parlatore had been a staunch defender of Trump, calling special counsel Jack Smith's investigation into the former president's retention of classified documents "improper." Last year, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Jack Smith as special counsel investigating Trump's handling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago home and his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol by his supporters.
