Supreme Court settles Trump-era asylum-seeker policy dispute.

The Supreme Court has dismissed a Republican-led bid to keep in place a Trump-era immigration policy that made it easy to expel asylum-seekers at the border following the official end of the Covid emergency declaration that was used to justify it. The policy, known as Title 42, has resulted in the expulsion of over 2 million people from the country. The case before the Supreme Court involved a request by 19 Republican state attorneys general who sought to intervene in defense of the policy. The move was expected after President Joe Biden ended the public health emergency on May 11.
