Resignation of Minnesota's Cannabis Regulator Amid Illegal Sales Allegations

Erin DuPree, the first cannabis regulator in Minnesota, has resigned from her position after allegations surfaced that she sold illegal products through her company, Loonacy Cannabis Co. DuPree, who was appointed by Governor Tim Walz, denied knowingly selling noncompliant products and stated that she removed them from inventory once she became aware. However, she acknowledged that her presence had become a distraction and would hinder the important work of the Office of Cannabis Management, which is responsible for regulating and establishing the cannabis market in the state.
