Reparations Proposals Spark Controversy and Support Across California and San Francisco

Fox News host Laura Ingraham criticized San Francisco's Board of Supervisors' proposal to provide reparations to qualifying Black residents, including a $5 million payment to every eligible African-American adult, debt forgiveness, guaranteed income of $97,000 a year for 250 years, and homes in San Francisco for just $1 per family. The Hoover Institution estimates the $5 million per person part of the plan at $600,000 per household. Ingraham argues that such proposals will bankrupt families already dealing with the crushing weight of inflation.
