'QAnon Shaman' Jacob Chansley Announces Congressional Run in Arizona

Jacob Chansley, also known as the "QAnon Shaman," who gained notoriety for his involvement in the Jan. 6 Capitol attack, has filed paperwork to run for Congress as a libertarian in Arizona's 8th Congressional District. Chansley, who wore a horned fur hat and face paint during the riot, pleaded guilty to obstructing an official proceeding and was sentenced to 41 months in prison. He has since disavowed the QAnon movement. The current Republican representative, Debbie Lesko, announced she would not seek re-election. Chansley is among the more than 700 people sentenced in relation to Capitol riot-related federal crimes.
