Alabama Republican Senators Katie Britt and Tommy Tuberville criticized Mexico's alleged "seizure" of an Alabama-based port facility owned by Vulcan Materials, claiming that armed Mexican forces have taken over the dock. Vulcan Materials alleges that the facility is still "under military occupation." The company has long been in a dispute with the Mexican government over its operations in the country. Britt and Tuberville called on President Biden to take action, with Britt stating that the incident is "significantly hamstringing important American infrastructure, energy, and other construction projects that currently rely on Vulcan’s operations in Mexico for materials."
