Lori Lightfoot's Executive Orders Before Leaving Office.

On her final full weekday in office, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot issued 10 executive orders, including the establishment of the Office of New Americans and a pension advance fund, among others. The orders were issued hours before Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson's inauguration and put him on the spot to publicly reject them. Johnson confirmed his own mark on the City Council by announcing a new chamber leadership plan, which includes Ald. Pat Dowell as chair of the Finance Committee and Ald. Jason Ervin as chair of the budget committee.
