Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester announced her bid for the Senate seat in Delaware, which is being vacated by retiring Sen. Tom Carper. If elected, she could become the third Black woman to ever serve in the Senate. Blunt Rochester is the first person to announce a bid for the Senate seat and has already begun hiring campaign staff.
