LA Councilman Curren Price charged with corruption and steps down from leadership role.

Los Angeles City Councilman Curren Price has been charged with embezzlement, perjury, and conflict of interest by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. Price allegedly had a financial interest in projects he voted on and had the city pay for his now-wife while he was still married to another woman. He is accused of having his wife receive more than $150,000 from developers before voting to approve projects between 2019 and 2021. Price has stepped down as the council's President Pro Tempore and his committee seats but intends to stay on the City Council. Council President Paul Krekorian plans to introduce a motion to suspend Price from the City Council.
