Kansas lawmakers prepare to override veto of trans athlete bill.

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly vetoed a bill banning transgender athletes from girls' and women's sports for the third year in a row, citing harm to students' mental health and the state's business recruitment efforts. Republicans have the two-thirds majority needed to override the veto, but a few GOP moderates have voted against it in the past.
