Kansas Gov. Kelly Vetoes Multiple Bills, Including Second Abortion Regulation Bill

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has vetoed a bill that would require clinics to inform patients that medication abortions can be interrupted using an unproven drug regimen. This is the second anti-abortion bill that Kelly has vetoed this month, despite efforts by the GOP-controlled Legislature to restrict abortion. The vetoes mean that abortion access and providers in Kansas remain less restricted compared to other states with GOP-controlled legislatures that have banned or severely restricted abortion procedures over the past year. Abortion rights supporters contend both measures break faith with voters.
