The Shelby County Board of Commissioners will vote on whether to reinstate Democrat Justin J. Pearson to the Tennessee Legislature after he was expelled last week for protesting gun violence on the chamber floor. Pearson and fellow Democrat Justin Jones were expelled for violating House rules by speaking when they were not recognized to. The vote by the Shelby County Board of Commissioners will come two days after the Nashville Metropolitan Council voted unanimously to reinstate Jones to his seat in the Legislature.
