Hoboken Mayor Bhalla Takes on Rep. Menendez in NJ Congressional Primary

Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla has officially launched his congressional campaign, challenging U.S. Rep. Rob Menendez in the 8th District primary. Bhalla emphasized the need for new voices and leadership to address issues such as healthcare, climate change, women's reproductive rights, and inequality. He highlighted his Sikh faith and personal experiences with discrimination, expressing his belief in the American Dream. Menendez welcomed Bhalla into the race but questioned his motives, citing Bhalla's recent loss of control in the city council. Bhalla has raised $509,000 so far but has not filed paperwork with the FEC. Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, who has called for Menendez's resignation, has not indicated support for Bhalla or any other challenger.
